CM Mayawati (52) wants her birthday to be simple

Lucknow, Jan 15: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister MayawatiUttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati turns 52 today, even as her party workers celebrate her birthday in a simple way because party supremo has given them clear instructions to provide relief to the downtrodden and destitute all over the state to mark the day.

Unlike last year, when Mayawati's birthday was celebrated with much pomp and who, which subsequently attracted much criticism, this time she has decided to keep the occasion low profile.

She will present special gifts for all round development of most backward areas of the state and poor families.

To mark the day, she will launch her government's Rs 30,000-crore "Ganga Expressway Project" between Ballia and Noida. Besides, she will also release book " Mere Sangharshmai Jeevan Evam BSP Movement Ka Safarnama Part - 3".

But, her supporters have planned a big fanfare on the occasion across Uttar Pradesh. The party has ordered a 52-kg cake besides leaving no stone unturned to ensure as much glitterati on the occasion.

Entire Lucknow is painted blue, the colour of BSP's flag. Public places like the 'Prena Sthal', 'Parivartan Chowk' and 'Ambedkar Sthal' in Lucknow have been lit up on the eve of her birthday.

Also, in a bid to observe the day as "Arthik Sahyog Diwas", the party MLAs, MLCs and MPs had been asked to contribute funds for strengthening the party economically. (ANI)
