Cities discuss sustainability in Amsterdam

Amsterdam - Representatives of cities from around the world and environmental experts met in Amsterdam Tuesday to discuss sustainability of municipalities.

The Connected Urban Development Conference should result in plans on how to increase quality of life and improve local sustainability, a spokesman for the city of Amsterdam said.

The representatives and experts are to discuss whether new technologies could achieve more environmentally friendly policies.

Among the participating cities are San Francisco, Madrid, Seoul, Lisbon, Hamburg and Birmingham. It is the second time the conference is taking place. (dpa)
