Cissokho transfer to AC Milan on hold
Rome - French defender Aly Cissokho left Italy for Senegal without signing a contract with his new club AC Milan, Italian media reported Thursday.
Milan doctors put the transfer on hold after medical tests revealed a dental problem that they believe could affect the player's posture.
The Devils agreed to pay Portuguese champions Porto 15 million euros (21 million dollars), but could now consider renegotiating the deal.
The 21-year-old, however, was quoted as saying that his "problem was nothing that cannot be solved in a short time. I signed a preliminary contract and now I go on vacation in (native) Senegal."
Cissokho, who was to sign a five-year contract worth 1 million euros (1.4 million dollars) per season, would be Milan's first signing after the departure of Brazil star Kaka for Real Madrid.
Veterans Andriy Shevchenko, Brazilian Emerson, Englishman David Beckham, the young Swiss Philippe Senderos and the retiring Paolo Maldini also left the club.
Coach Carlo Ancelotti moved on to Chelsea and was replaced by Brazilian Leonardo. (dpa)
