Chirayu Amin Nominated As Interim IPL ChairmanAfter suspending the league's commissioner Lalit Modi, the Governing Council of the Indian Premier League (IPL) today nominated Indian cricket board vice-president Chirayu Amin as the interim chairman.

Lalit, who is also BCCI's vice-president, was suspended today, after the finale of the IPL's third season.

Modi is confrontring 22 charges ranging from financial misdeeds to rigging bids proxy holdings and kickbacks in broadcast agreement.

Under the chairmanship of BCCI president Shashank Manohar and unanimously nominated Amin as the interim chairman of IPL, 13 members of the Governing Council, lacking Modi, attended the meeting, which took place at the Cricket Centre in Wankhede Stadium.

Chirayu Amin is the chief of Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) and is also a affiliate of IPL Governing Council.

He said, "My priority is to clean the game and plan for next year's IPL. We have showcaused Mr. Modi and will wait for his reply."

Other members of the Governing Council include Punjab Cricket Association chief Inderjit Singh Bindra, joint secretary Sanjay Jagdale, Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association chief Farooq Abdullah, IPL vice-chairman Niranjan Shah vice presidents Amin, Rajeev Shukla, Arjun Jaitley, board secretary N. Srinivasan, and former India captains Ravi Shastri, Sunil Gavaskar and Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. (With Inputs from Agencies)
