Chandhok’s first win of the season in the Formula 1

The 24-year-old Karun Chandhok has recorded his second career victory in the Formula 1 feeder category. He recorded his current race win of 2008 GP2 Series in Hockenheim. The young driver recorded his first win in motor sport at Spa last year. This is a rare victory for India in formula 1.  

He started from pole position and lost at the start of to Renault F1 test driver Lucas di Grassi. Red Bull, Punj Lloyd, JK Tyre, Amaron, ICSA Logistics and Sidvin were also backed him.

After so many efforts he took lead over Spitzkehre and the Mercedes Arena. With time he came under huge pressure from Andi Zuber of Piquet Sports for the last 20 laps of the race but he managed to score victory for the iSport International team.

Kamui Kobayashi was handed a 25-second penalty after it was decided that he caused an avoidable collision with Diego Nunes. He also lost his bonus point for fastest lap time handing it to Sebastien Buemi.  

Commenting on the victory Chandhok said the victory become possible by collective efforts of his team. He was happy to pass Lucas Filippi during game. Lucas had an amazing start but he was very slow during the period. Chandhok got a good exit from Turn 2 and finally recorded victory.
