CDC reminds People to Get Flu Shot

Flu season’s peak time has started. Many people experience symptoms like high fever, stuffy nose and fatigue during flu season. It’s the time to trudge to a physician and get vaccine. Most people recover in a few days, but some develop serious problems, such as pneumonia.

This year’s flu season has been causing troubles for people since its beginning in October, but its peak time starts in December. According to a report of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the peak flu activity may occur through February next year.

The leading national public health institute of the country said the only way to tackle flu is get the shot. Not all people get the flu shot, but those people who do not want to compromise with heath should get the flu vaccine as it is the only way to reduce the risk of developing the infection and limit its spread, as per CDC.

The federal agency said in this year’s flu season, people without flu vaccine could develop complications like bronchitis, pneumonia, ear infections and sinus. Some health problems could also take infected people to hospital rooms, CDC added.

David Morgan, spokesperson of New Mexico Department of Health, said it is important to get flu vaccine in every flu season. It is never too late to do that, Morgan added. “Anybody 6 months or older should get the flu shot, especially if they are in close contact with the people who could be most negatively impacted by the flu”, as per the spokesperson.
