Cancer of Football Star Devon’s Daughter Is in Remission

The Cincinnati Bengals star Devon shared some amazing news about his daughter Leah on Wednesday. Devon wrote that his four-year-old daughter Leah, who has been bravely battling stage-4 Neuroblastoma for the past year, was told that her cancer is in remission.

"'Today we received news from Leah's oncologist that her cancer, stage four Neuroblastoma, is officially in REMISSION!", Devon wrote on Instagram.

He stated that after 296 days of waiting for the day when doctors would say that his daughter is in remission, he is more than happy to hear the news.

Expressing his joy, the footballer said that there is really no way to describe the feeling because he never this feeling would be so exciting for him.

The Cincinnati Bengals star further in his post thanked everyone from the doctors who helped his daughter to the one who wrote notes for her and shared her history.

Leah's battle with the rare cancer has been followed by millions since she first began receiving treatment last June at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

In September, she had a tumor removed from her abdomen, and last month received her final round of chemotherapy.

Leah through this time remained active from walking in the Levi's Kids fashion show during New York Fashion Week in February to appearing in a music video for the song Truly Brave, a mashup of the Sara Bareilles song Brave and the Cyndi Lauper classic True Colors.

Also, she and her star father have written a children's book to help other kids that are going through cancer treatment.

In November, 2014, the Cincinnati Bengals presented a check for $1.3million to the Children's Hospital in Cincinnati for pediatric cancer treatment and research, money raised from the sale of Still jerseys.

The team also honored Leah during a ceremony, and for the first time ever the young girl was actually able to attend a game since she had begun her treatment.
