On behalf of all Canadians, I wish to express our deep and profound sympathy and condolences to the families and loved ones of those killed and injured by these heinous acts of violence, including many in Canada. These attacks targeted people from India and around the world. They were attacks on values we hold dear, and we share your loss.

As a fellow democracy, Canada stands firmly with the Government and people of India in your fight against terror and as you face with resolve one of the darkest times a country can ever experience. We offer our support as you work to restore order and bring to justice those responsible for these cowardly attacks against innocent people.

"This (Thursday) morning, I spoke to the Indian Foreign Minister and, on behalf of the people of Canada, relayed my sincere condolences for those injured and killed in these barbaric attacks. Canada stands united with India to combat all forms of terrorism. These attacks have strengthened our resolve to work together for the mutual security and prosperity of our people," he added.
