A call for human rights- Body of a woman exhumed after six months of death
The body of Velangani, a 27 year old, supposedly committed suicide was unearthed after six months of death on a complaint by her parents who suspected of 'bad act', reports the local police.
The lady who was the native of Chettali village, Karnataka was the wife of Charlie Joseph. It was informed to her parents that she had poisoned herself and committed suicide on September 13, 2009 and thus they exhumed her body.
However, it was the instance of burial which highlighted the scar on Velangani's face and called for probing and firing complaint in the State Human Rights Commission and at the Chamarajanagar police station.
The police and the SHRC flew in action and has exhumed the body and sent it for post-mortem.
