Call girl Belle de Jour outed as Brit scientist
London, Nov 16 : The posh hooker, whose notorious Belle de Jour blog was adapted into the TV hit ‘Secret Diary Of A Call Girl’, has revealed her identity—she’s a research scientist.
Dr Brooke Magnanti''s explicit Internet story of her experiences as a call girl was first turned into a book and then inspired the ITV series with Billie Piper in the lead.
She worked as a 300 pound-an-hour prostitute while writing her thesis as a student between 2003 and 2004.
Magnanti, 34, works for the Bristol Initiative for Research of Child Health and has now revealed her identity because she feared an ex-boyfriend might expose her.
"I don''t want this massive secret over me any more. I stand behind every word with pride,” The Sun quoted her as saying.
And she said the work was "so much more enjoyable" than the shifts she did by day as a computer programmer.
Magnanti admitted that some sex workers have bad experiences but she was lucky.
Her bosses at Bristol University said: "Her past is not relevant to her current role." (ANI)
