CA will offer Symond’s contract to Tait
Cricket Australia (CA) has announced that CA will offer South Australian fast bowler Shaun Tait a contract which has been withdrawn from the all-rounder Andrew Symonds.
Symonds was knocked out from the Australian squad for the ICC T20 World Cup after he was charged with breaching of discipline norms during the ICC T20 World Cup.
Tait has not been considered for the test squad of Australian team but he has been awarded this contract for gaining 25th rank as a one-day and Twenty20 bowler under the rankings system that CA uses to offer contracts to players
Australian National selection panel chairman Andrew Hilditch said that after withdrawing contract from Symonds, Tait is the best player to offer contract for 2009-10 as at his best, Tait is an important one-day international and Twenty20 player. Now Tait will fully utilize this opportunity given to him.
Meanwhile Symonds has also received offers from the English counties and South African provinces to play for their teams.
