BSP, Congress sign pact for Karnataka Assembly polls: Website
New Delhi, Feb 22: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Chief Mayawati and Congress Party President Sonia Gandhi have secretly signed a pact for the forthcoming 2008 Karnataka Assembly elections, a website has claimed.
"BSP Chief Mayawati and Congress Party President Sonia Gandhi have concluded a secret deal for the forthcoming 2008 Karnataka Assembly elections," www. politicsparty. com has said.
According to the website, the Sonia-Mayawati deal would facilitate the Congress to contest 140 Assembly constituencies and the BSP 84 constituencies.
In every Lok Sabha Constituency, the Congress will contest five seats and the BSP will contest three seats, according to the pact.
The website has further said that the Congress would secure 40 per cent vote and 115 MLAs, while the BSP would get 15 per cent vote with 28 MLAs.
The website said that the secret deal between the two would ensure that the Congress would win the Karnataka Assembly elections. (ANI)
