BJP leader takes a dig at A. Raja

BJP leader takes a dig at A. RajaFormer BJP leader Arun Shourie has now accused A. Raja, the former telecom minister, of not following the government’s ‘first come first serve’ policy in its real sense and going out of the way to favor certain telecom companies.

A. Raja who is the prime accused of the 2G spectrum scam, and supposedly causing a loss of 1.76 lakh crore to the government, was recently raided by the CBI at his house and his offices where diaries containing the scam details were found.

A. Raja has already maintained that he will support the CBI in probe and also requested he probe should begin from BJP rule in 2001.

Arun Shourie was at the Nani Palkhivala Foundation Memorial when he said in his lecture that during his term as telecom minister he never took any decision without the consent and consultation of the group of minister, and thus has a cleaner record.

A. Raja though completely changed the system. He also further threw light on how Raja gave licenses to few companies whom he liked ignoring 374 pending applications for licenses, when the entire process began in September 2004.
