Bhupati-Knowles Duo Crashes Out Of Wimbledon
The fourth seeded pair of India's Mahesh Bhupathi and Mark Knowles of Bahamas has crashed out of the men’s double event of the Wimbledon championship as they lost their match against South African Wesley Moodie and Dick Norman of Belgium in the quarterfinals in London on Wednesday.
Bhupathi-Knowles duo went down in the five setter match against the ninth seeded duo of Moodie-Norman by 6-7(9), 6-4, 6-7 (7), 7-5, 4-6, which lasted for almost three and a half hours.
There was tough competition between Bhupathi-Knowles and their opponents as all the five sets were close with three of the five going into tie-breakers.
Bhupati-Knowles duo got four break points in the match but they managed to convert only two of them into points, while their opponents got six break points including three in the final set of the match.
Meanwhile, India's campaign came to an end in the junior category of Wimbledon, as the pair of India’s Sudarwa Sitaram and Liang-chi Huang of Chinese Taipei lost their match against American Mitchell Frank and Cheng peng Hsieh of Chinese Taipei by 1-6, 2-6 on Tuesday.
