Madrid - Brazilian striker Edu de Souza is out of action for around six weeks due to injury, his Spanish club Real Betis announced on Friday.

Edu, 27, tore the femoral biceps muscle in his right leg whilst scoring the first goal in Betis' 2-0 cup win at Castellon on Wednesday.

It is the same injury that has plagued Edu for the past two seasons.

Edu has been a key man in the Betis attack for four years now, and his goals saved the Seville club from relegation last season. (dpa)
