Australia thrashes Pakistan by 5 wickets

Australia, Pakistan Australian team has taken 1-0 lead against Pakistan in five one day international matches series after winning the first ODI by five wickets at the Brisbane Cricket Ground, Woolloongabba in Brisbane on Friday.

Pakistan skipper won the toss and elected to bat first. Pakistan team returned to pavilion with 274 runs on the board in 49.4 overs. Salman Butt was the top scorer for Pakistan while Shahid Afridi smashed 48 runs in just 26 balls including three towering sixes.

Shane Watson was the most successful bowler for Australia who took four wickets for just 36 runs in his 10 overs. C McKay and D Bollinger picked up three and two wickets respectively.

Australian team chased the target of 275 successfully in 48.3 overs with five wickets to spare. C White smashed a brilliant century to lead his team to victory. White scored 105 runs in just 88 balls including four huge sixes. White was declared man of the match for his brilliant ton.
