Australia sets target of 274 runs for New Zealand
The World no. one Australian team has set target of 274 runs for the New Zealand in the second One Day International (ODI) at the Eden Park in Auckland on Saturday.
Australian skipper Ricky Ponting won the toss and elected to bat first. The Aussies got to a good start as their openers added 73 runs for the first wicket. Shane Watson scored 47 runs while Brad Haddin contributed 57 runs with the bat.
C White and Mike Hussey also played brilliantly and scored 54 and 56 runs respectively. Australian team scored 273 runs for loss of seven wickets in their allotted 50 overs.
S Bond and D Vettori took two wickets each for New Zealand while J Franklin and D Tuffey picked up one wicket each.
Australian team will be looking to win this match to make comeback in the series as they had lost the first ODI. On the other hand, New Zealand will be eyeing to go up 2-0 in the series.
