Aussie w/k-batsman Haddin to miss CT

Brad-HaddinThe big news doing the rounds is that Tim Paine will replace Brad Haddin in the Australian team while Kevin McClean will replace Daren Powell in the West Indies team after the ICC approved changes for the upcoming Champions Trophy (CT).

Brad Haddin, the Aussie wicketkeeper, has been ruled out of the ICC CT as he is recovering from surgery on his left ring finger.

The 31-year old Australian cricketer broke his finger in the third Ashes Test at Edgbaston last month.

Replacing Haddin, Tasmania wicketkeeper Tim Paine has also been included in the Australian ODI squad that would take on England.

The 21-year-old McClean, an all-rounder from Barbados, has replaced Daren Powell in the West Indies team for the CT.

Though McClean has not featured in any international match but has played in 13 first-class matches in which he has scored 291 runs at an average of 20.78.

Apart from this, he has also picked 39 wickets at an average of little over 20 with his best figures being 5-49.

The much-awaited Champions Trophy is all set to start with a bang in South Africa from September 22 to October 5.
