ARSEC Environmental awarded the contract for Los Alamos demolition
According to the official reports, the Homeland Security Capital and partner American Radiation Services were selected for a hazardous material building demolition project in New Mexico.
It was further reported that the contract was awarded to ARSEC Environmental, which is a joint venture between Homeland Security Capital's Safety and Ecology unit and American Radiation Services.
Under the $6 million deal, the ARSEC team will bring down the more than 50-year-old main administration building at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico.
The report further revealed that the contract is part of Los Alamos National Laboratory's Infrastructure Support Program designed to reduce nuclear weapons infrastructure in the United States.
The administration building combines office and laboratory space, which requires ARSEC to secure and dispose of hazardous material to safely bring down the structure.
C. Thomas McMillen, Homeland Security Capital, chairman and chief executive officer, said in a statement, "The need to clean up and secure hazardous waste is a top national priority and we are proud to be selected as part of a team to work at Los Alamos." (With Inputs from Agencies)
