Archos releases the 7 inch sensation; Android tablet £130Archos has taken the world by surprise with its new offering, the ARCHOS 7, a Google's Android based home tablet, priced at £130.

The French manufacturer, known for its hardware contributions to the world, has a lot of abundant hardware in this new tablet that includes a 7-inch touchscreen with 800x480 pixels, built in Wi-Fi, a weight of 350g and a 12mm thickness.

It sports an integrated USB connector, which aids in easy transfer of files from a PC to a digital camera but doesn't carry a storage card reader. It works on an ARM processor i. e., a single core ARM 9 processor running at 600MHz.

CEO, Henri Crohas said, "Archos 7 fits in a niche when a smart-phone is not enough and a computer is too much, in other words, the same space targeted by Apple's iPad."

This device seems to sport a host of widgets that include Youtube, news, weather and local business directories. It also comes with a built-in MP3 player as well as a free music streaming service.

This device will soon be available in stores from May 7 and debut in Archos's UK website, confirms a report.
