AP ministers ask Chargers to boycott IPL-3

Andhra PradeshThe Andhra Pradesh government has asked Deccan Chargers to not take part in the upcoming cash rich and lucrative Indian Premier League (IPL-3) if the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) refused to shift opening match to Hyderabad.

Andhra Pradesh sports minister K Venkat Reddy admitted that through a communiqué honorable Chief Minister K Rosaiah and he have urged former BCCI chief Sharad Pawar to hold inaugural match in Hyderabad.

Mr. Reddy added that they have asked Deccan Chargers to not play in the IPL-3 if the match is not shifted back to the Hyderabad and the whole state is united on this decision.

The opening match of the IPL-3 was shifted to Mumbai from Hyderabad after the Telangana protestors had threatened to boycott the tournament. The inaugural match is scheduled to be played on 12th March.

The Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad will host four matches of their home team while rest two matches will be held at Visakhapatnam.
