London, Nov 4 : English striker Andy Carroll recently proposed to his long time girlfriend Billi Mucklow.

The 25-year-old West Ham player had taken 'The Only Way Is Essex' star to Rome to celebrate her 27th birthday, laying out a Net-A-Porter frock, Givenchy accessories and Jimmy Choo heels for her to wear for on the occasion, and popped the question in front of the Colosseum, with a huge square-cut diamond sparkler, the Daily Star reported.

The happy couple posed for a picture in front of the ancient landmark holding up a caricature which read 'Will You Marry Me?,' and Mucklow took to Twitter to share the happy news writing that "The Love Of My Life Asked Me To Marry Him, And I Can't Wait To Be Your Wife!"

She added that the night was the best night of her life.

Meanwhile, Carroll, who had even presented the beauty with a birthday cake featuring a diamond ring made from icing, too shared that it was a "standard YES." (ANI)
