Anastasia storms into second round of ITFThe second seeded Anastasia Malhotra of Japan has stormed into the second round of the women's single event of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) tournament with prize money of $10,000 in New Delhi on Monday.

Anastasia defeated Indian wildcard Nova Patel in the straight sets by 6-2 6-3 in the first round at the DLTA complex.

Anastasia, semi-finalist of the last ITF here in June, will play against the winner of the match between Indian Sweta-Kumari Solankui and Slovak Dalila Jakupvic in the second round of the tournament.

Among the other Indians, Rashmi Teltumbde defeated wildcard Gopika Kapoor 6-2, 6-2 in her first round match. She will now lock horns with the winner of the match between seventh-seeded Uzbek Alexandra Kolesnichenko and French Elodie Rogge-Dietrich in the second round.

India's Treta Bhattacharya also won his match against Jasmin Steinherr of Germany to set up clash with winner of match between sixth-seeded Parija Maloo and Prerna Bhambri in next round match.
