The second seeded Anastasia Malhotra of Japan has stormed into the second round of the women's single event of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) tournament with prize money of $10,000 in New Delhi on Monday.

Anastasia defeated Indian wildcard Nova Patel in the straight sets by 6-2 6-3 in the first round at the DLTA complex.

Anastasia, semi-finalist of the last ITF here in June, will play against the winner of the match between Indian Sweta-Kumari Solankui and Slovak Dalila Jakupvic in the second round of the tournament.

Among the other Indians, Rashmi Teltumbde defeated wildcard Gopika Kapoor 6-2, 6-2 in her first round match. She will now lock horns with the winner of the match between seventh-seeded Uzbek Alexandra Kolesnichenko and French Elodie Rogge-Dietrich in the second round.

India's Treta Bhattacharya also won his match against Jasmin Steinherr of Germany to set up clash with winner of match between sixth-seeded Parija Maloo and Prerna Bhambri in next round match.
