Americans more afraid of technology elements than nuclear attack

A new survey has unveiled about the fears of Americans. The survey has found that Americans are more afraid of certain elements of technologies rather than witnessing a nuclear attack or running out of money. In fact, they are also more afraid of idea that corporations tracking them than the idea of dying.

The survey findings have been presented by the Chapman University. As per the survey, many Americans are afraid of corruption of government officials, but most fear the cyber terrorism, corporate tracking their personal information and government keeping a track of people on the internet.

Fifty-eight per cent of Americans have said that they fear politicians and other government officials who are involved into corruption. Next, 44.8% of Americans fear cyber-terrorism and 44.6% of Americans fear corporations tracking people.

The university has divided fears into 10 parts like Crime, Personal Anxieties, Judgement of Others, Environment, Daily Life, Natural Disasters, Personal Future, and the Government, Man-Made Disasters and Technology.

Out of these 10 sections, man-made disasters have received the highest fear score. Second place was given to technology and the government. Judgement has received the lowest fear score. Twenty-eight percent of people have said that they fear robots being hired as employees and 23.95 generally fear from robots.

Christopher Bader, a professor of sociology at Chapman University, said that a high-level fear can be detrimental.
