AMD sales executive Henri Richard ready to leave in September
Advanced Micro Devices Inc.'s has announced that the chief sales and marketing officer Mr. Henri Richard has decided to leave the company this September. Richard joined AMD in 2002 and has earlier worked at IBM and Bell.
AMD (NYSE: AMD) manufactures Computer Microchips and has offered bitter competition to market leader Intel in past two years. Mr. Richard helped the company in making a good brand value. The company did aggressive marketing and offered latest technology. The result was increase in market share of the company in PC processor and server markets as well.
In the official statement, the company informed, "Mr. Richard departs AMD of his own accord and on completely amicable terms."
Mr. Richard announced his resignation plans in a press release. He stated that, "After 20 years in the PC industry--and five of the most professionally rewarding years here at AMD--I have decided to make a move to a different business segment."
AMD Chairman and CEO Hector Ruiz praised the efforts of Mr. Richard during his tenure.
"Henri's primary goal at AMD has been to construct a world-class global sales and marketing organization focused on enduring relationships with major PC and server OEMs around the world. He delivered on that goal," Mr. Ruiz stated.
AMD is ready to launch its quad-core server processor "Barcelona" after a long delay due to glitches.
