Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has been looking doubtful for the ODI series against Sri Lanka as he did not bowl into the nets in the fitness in Lahore on Friday.

After the fitness test, the interim chief selector, Wasim Bari said that the fitness test of Shoaib was taken at the national cricket academy, but he didn't bowl in the nets although he was not stopped by board to bowl.

Earlier in the day, Bari also consulted with the designated chief selector, Iqbal Qasim and members of the committee in Lahore before taking fitness test of Shoaib, and they also discussed about the 30-member squad for the ICC Champions Trophy in South Africa, which will be held in September this year.  

Shoaib was dropped from the Pakistan squad in May before the ICC T20 World Cup due to skin infection and irritation.

The newly appointed Pakistan selection committee will start their working from August 1.
