Advani says no to Holi in respect of 26/11 victims
New Delhi, Mar 9 : BJP spokesperson Siddharth Nath Singh announced on Monday that party''s prime ministerial candidate L K Advani would not celebrate Holi this year in solidarity of Mumbai attack victims.
Talking to the reporters in New Delhi, Singh said "Advani has decided in his individual capacity that he will not be celebrating Holi as a mark of respect to those killed in the November 26 Mumbai terror attack."
However, he clarified that Advani''s decision to mourn on the festival on March 11 is not binding on the BJP leaders. "Whoever in the BJP wants to celebrate Holi is free to do so," Singh said.
He further revealed that the veteran leader has not celebrated any of the festivals that have fallen since 26/11 strikes.
The three-day terror attack in Mumbai claimed the lives of at least 183 people
Those dead included Mumbai ATS chief Hemant Karkare, encounter specialist Vijay Salaskar and ACP Ashok Kamte. (ANI)
