32% of iPhone 4 are running on Verizon, study

32% of iPhone 4 are running on Verizon, studyAccording to a new study, about 32% of the Apple iPhone 4 smartphones in the US are running on the network of Verizon telecom, allowing rival AT&T to remain as the main operator for the Apple’s popular smartphone in the country.

Research firm Localytics said in a blog post, "Despite AT&Ts nearly eight-month head start, Verizon has managed to capture nearly a third of the U. S. iPhone 4 market"

Apple launched its iPhone 4 on Verizon in February, months after the device was launch on AT&T in June 2010. AT&T was the exclusive network for Apple’s smartphone in the country ever since their launch until this February. AT&T sold millions of iPhones over the years but its customers have been complaining about capacity crunch and connectivity issues.

It is noted that Verizon has been increasing its share every month since the launch of the device. Localytics said that the Verizon increased its share for iPhone 4 from 20% in February to a 32.3% in July. However, the operator could see a slowdown in the increase as it stopped offering unlimited data plan for new users.

The firm said it "broke down all U. S. iPhone 4 traffic" to arrive at its figures, including charting the Verizon iPhone's growth since its launch.
