$100 becomes hi-techThe $100 bill has become high-tech and is going through a complete makeover. As per the new plans, the magical bells and the Liberty Bells will disappear completely and will be replaced with better safety tricks.

The step has been taken so that it becomes even more difficult for the frauds to copy it. Also, this will stop the illegal flow of money into the overseas market.

The makeover was launched by Ben Bernanke, the Federal Reserve Chairman and Timothy Geithner, Treasury Secretary. An event that took place on Wednesday saw this unveiling.

Talking about the note, Timothy said that the US currency will undergo redesigning and the best possible and available technology will be used to stop counterfeits.

Meanwhile, it was told that the C-Note will continue to have Benjamin Franklin at the center followed by the Liberty Bells and security ribbons that will be the new additions and would be using ink that disappears.

The new currency will not be into circulation until the February of next year and as much as 6.5 billion notes will go into circulation.
