10 more swine flu cases in UP; toll reaches 79
Ten fresh swine flu cases were reported from the state of Uttar Pradesh on Thursday and Friday, raising the total number of affected persons in the state to 79.
Of the 10 cases, 3 were tested positive in Gautambudhnagar, while the other 7 were reported from Lucknow, the state capital.
In Lucknow, all of the 7 cases were reported from a school named DPS. Five of these were stated to be students and two teachers of the school.
However, A. K. Shukla, Chief Medical Officer, Lucknow said that there is nothing to panic about.
Speaking with the media-persons in the capital, Shukla said: 'All of them have preferred to remain confined to their homes, where adequate supplies of Tamiflu tablets was being maintained.”
“We are also keeping constant vigil on each of the cases,” added Shukla.
He also informed the media persons that the capsules of Tami Flu were being provided to all the victims of deadly swine flu in the state.
Meanwhile, the state health authorities are trying their best to map out all persons who were in direct contact with these ten people and make certain that they underwent screening.
