Sydney  - Keepers at Melbourne Zoo dressed up in gorilla costumes and handed visitors bags of peanuts Sunday in an imaginative campaign for higher pay.

Angry employees chanting "we're not monkeys, we won't work for peanuts" are hoping to enlist public support for a pay rise.

They warned that animals would suffer if low pay drove them to leave jobs they love. (dpa)
