Yasuo Fukuda expected to be next Prime Minister of Japan

Japan is ready for a new Prime Minister after Mr. Abe left amid political crisis in the country. Mr. Yasuo Fukuda will be the next Prime Minister after he was selected as the president of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP). At age of 71, Mr. Fukuda is among oldest leaders in Japan.

Son of former Prime Minister, Takeo Fukuda, Mr. Yasuo is most likely to be the next Prime Minister of Japan. The formal announcement from the party is awaited. Mr. Yasuo Fukuda is viewed as a moderate conservative by his party members.

Shinzo Abe (53) is almost 18 years younger than the next choice of Japanese politicians. Shinzo government had a short span due to inexperience of Mr. Shinzo and many scandals surfaced during his tenure.

Mr. Fukuda graduated in economics from Waseda University and has worked at a Japanese oil company for nearly 17 years. He has been selected for his experience and the party members expect him to bring stability in Japan.

After graduating from Tokyo`s prestigious Waseda University with an economics degree, Fukuda worked at a Japanese oil company for 17 years, two of which he spent in the United States.
