Worldwide Internet Connections to Reach One Billion by 2013

InternetExplorerIn a new study, it has been estimated that more than one billion mobile devices will be accessing the Internet by the year 2013. It has been 40 year since the internet came into operation and has spread very fast in the last ten years.

According to the IDC research report, there are currently about 450 million mobile Internet users in the world. Due to the launch of new gadgets which support internet usage, more number of users have been able to connect to the World Wide Web using their mobile handsets. These gadgets, which include, mobiles phones, netbooks, and gaming consoles, will enable the users to use internet in an advanced way, which will omit the difference between personal and professional life.

There were about 1.6 billion users of internet in the world, using various gadgets like PCs, mobile phones, and online videogame consoles, in the year 2009. Now, it has been estimated that there will be more than 2.7 billion people accessing the Internet from 2.7 billion different devices till the year 2013.

The activities such as using the search engines, reading news, blogging, social networking, downloading music, emailing, online shopping, gaming and recreation, which can be done on the mobile now, have been a big reason for the increase in the users of the internet in the past few years.
