World Trade Centre’s wreckage warship sets sailNew York, Oct 14 : USS New York, a warship built with steel retrieved from the wreckage of the World Trade Centre (WTC), set sail from the banks of Mississippi River for New York on Tuesday.

The warship’s contains 7.5 tonnes of steel retrieved from the debris of the WTC, which was attacked by terrorist on September 11, 2001.

“That steel means a whole lot more than just metal. The entire country comes together in the form of that bow stem and I''m so proud that this event puts it in the history books and in people''s minds,” The Telegraph quoted Ronnie Harris, mayor of Gretna, Louisiana, as saying.

The ship will be used to transport and deploy combat forces of Marine expeditionary units of the US Navy. It can carry approximately 720 troops and deploy helicopters on its massive deck. (ANI)
