Women's super-g cancelled
Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany - Thick fog and priority for a men's downhill on the same piste led to the cancellation of a women's super-g World Cup ski race on Saturday.
The women's race was due to follow the men's event on the newly inaugurated Kandahar course for the 2011 world championships, but the conditions forced delays in the men's speed race which was yet to be started by the time the women's event was called off.
It was unlikely that the women will stage the race on Sunday as they are to open the world championships in Val d'Isere, France, on Tuesday with a super-g. (dpa)
