Bangalore-headquartered Wipro Infotech, a division of the US$4.93 billion Wipro Limited, has secured a five-year multi-million-dollar order from Spencer's Retail Ltd. Under the contract, Wipro will provide IT infrastructure support for all the stores, distribution centers, regional and zonal offices for Spencer's apart from also supporting future store roll outs over the 5 year period. However, the company did not give financial details regarding the deal. Spencer's Retail Limited, a part of the Rs 13500 crores RPG Enterprises, is a multi-format, food-first retailer, providing the widest range and assortment of products to its key consumer segment in the age group of 25-34. Spencer's has standalone revenue in excess of Rs 1000 crores, operates 400 stores in 66 cities and has massive expansion plans of reaching 1000 stores by the end of year 2009.
