Windsor High School Robotics Club: Team with Bright Future

The success of the Windsor High School Robotics Club has proven that the team is the best in the western region. Now, the team has grown from just four members to two teams of five members each. Sometimes the team faces difficult situations, but despite the hurdles, the future looks bright for the club. Team member Lester Oliver said that there are possibilities that what the team is doing in the classroom will be soon in people's living room.

In the First Tech Robotics Challenge, a competition where six teams from the state get the chance to compete, the team has won two championships. The competition includes many tasks that a robot must accomplish. The tasks include putting balls into tubes, moving tubes to another location, and grabbing or pulling levers. The organizers set up the competition in a manner so that teams could work together and make changes to their robots on the spot.

While talking about the team, team member Matt Garcia said, "The speed at which they can make technological advancements opens up the mechanical possibilities for us, which only leads to bigger and better possibilities that benefit both robotics and society".

According to Garcia, every member of the team knows his responsibility. Some materials that the club needs are made by members on their own. Team member Daniel Schmerge has a program that allows the team to design all the pieces on computer and print them out.

Team coach Jonah Kliewer said that it is always incredible to see team members creating things on their own. They are so extremely driven and self-motivated, according to Kliewer. The coach further said that the team has a base of materials. The Windsor High School Robotics Club gets fund from outside donations and some companies that want to support the team, Kliewer added.
