'Waste Land' Beats Rupert And Kristen, 'Saw 3D’ Betters Them Too

'Waste Land' Beats Rupert And Kristen, 'Saw 3D’ Betters Them TooKristen Stewart and Rupert Grint seems to have done okay this weekend as far as their films are concerned although it was ‘Saw 3D’ that seems to have made the most on the Halloween weekend. The low budget independent flicks, however, saw intense competition amongst themselves and it was an all out war for the fans of ‘Twilight’ and ‘Harry Potter’.

Grint’s ‘Wild Target’ was pitched vis- a- vis Stewart’s ‘Welcome to the Rileys’ this time but surprisingly none of them turned out to be the winner. The coveted slot went instead to a documentary film about the largest garbage dump of the world. The film, aptly titled ‘Waste Land’ made more money than any other movie per theater both in the limited as well as the wide release categories. Admittedly it was released in only a single theater but the very fact that it made $ $11,562 is commendable indeed. Incidentally, it got to rival even ‘Saw 3D’.

‘Welcome to the Rileys’ released at ten theaters and was beaten hollow when it came to the earnings by ‘Wild Target’ which opened in four theaters. It was however, a plus for both Kristen Stewart and Rupert Grint after ‘The Runaways’ and the 2006 independent production ‘Driving Lessons’.
