Karachi, Jan. 22 : Former Pakistan cricket captain and fast bowler Waqar Younis has said the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) should take firm steps against teams refusing to tour the country, if it wants international cricket in Pakistan to resume.

He said he was opposed to the idea of the PCB hosting Australia at a neutral venue after the Kangaroos had shown their reluctance to come to Pakistan, citing security problems.

"PCB would have to show `some strength' and pursue Cricket Australia to send its team to Pakistan," Younis said.

"If Australia refuses to come to Pakistan then we should not play against them at a neutral venue," he added.

`Tit for tat' attitude is what Younis asked for from the PCB saying: "PCB should not send its team to those countries which are refusing to play in Pakistan."

He lauded the Sri Lankan side for touring the country when India cancelled their tour in the wake of the Mumbai terror attack.

Younis said that there is no security concern in the country and the successful hosting of the Sri Lanka series is a testimony to that fact.

"If the Sri Lankan team can come to play then Australia should not hesitate to visit Pakistan," he said. (ANI)
