Wal-Mart stands last in Consumer Satisfaction

A new study by American magazine Consumer Reports has found that American multinational retail corporation Wal-Mart has been rated the worst by consumers. The study also found that supermarket company Publix has been rated as the second-best grocery chain in the United States.

During the study, a number of shopping chains in the United States were ranked in more than a dozen categories, ranging from service to price. According to the study, Publix, which has headquarters in Florida, was given highest-possible rating by the shoppers in about five categories, including bakery and store-prepared food products. The category of number of local products carried by it was the only category, in which the supermarket company received below-average rating.

As per the study, Wegmans was the only store chain which scored as per expectations. The store chain is headquartered in New Jersey. The big fame Wal-Mart ranked 68 in the study, and tied with supermarket companies like A&P and Waldbaum's.

The retail company Wal-Mart received the worst possible rating by the shoppers across six categories. According to the customers, cleanliness and service are the worst services of the company Headquartered in Bentonville, Arkansas. Wal-Mart received above average rating for price, which was a big relief for the retail company.

While talking about the results of the new study, Wal-Mart US CEO Greg Foran said the company has decided to improve its stores this year. In the survey, The Fresh Market, chain of gourmet supermarkets based in Greensboro, grabbed the ninth spot overall. It was among the three shopping stores in the United States that received top rating for produce and meat. Whole Foods held the 15th spot, as per the survey.

As per the CBS news, Walmart, A&P and Waldbaum's earned about 64 points, the lowest out of more than 60 supermarket chains.
