Wage issue at Hero’s Gurgaon plant remains inconclusiveThe negotiations to address the wage dispute between the management and the workers at Hero MotoCorp's Gurgaon plant remained unresolved on Monday amid indications that the conditions are worsening.

Workers have hinted that they will slow down production activities from tomorrow. Workers have been staging protests against the low wage hike proposed by the company and the matter has now been referred to Haryana Deputy Labour Commissioner for further consultations.

The two sides have been discussion the matter to look for a solution since August 2012. Workers have demanded a wage hike of up to Rs 18,000 over a three-year period. The management has said that they are offering a hike of more than Rs 6,500 per month during the three year period. They have decided to wait for the outcome of the discussions under the state Deputy Labour Commissioner (DLC) for deciding further steps.

Hero MotoCorp Workers Union, President Kawalpreet Singh said, "The initial discussions under the presence of a junior level state labour official have failed today. Now the matter has been forwarded to higher authorities under the state DLC." The representatives of the workers had submitted their demands in august and they have been deliberating with the management ever since over the issue.
