It might be heart wrenching for all the Rajesh Khanna fans but its true. His performance is so bad in ‘Wafaa’ that it cannot be described. It is hard to believe that this is the same superstar whom many of us grew up watching and admiring.

The actor looks like a fumbling, out-of-sync man on the screen, who could do with regular visits to the gym rather than the romp in bed with a starlet. However, it’s the lurid treatment of the theme that leaves no room for doubt about the film’s maker’s intentions. The performance by once so extremely talented actor in this movie is below average.

However, much should be blamed on presentation and packaging that clearly indicates an embarrassing absence of positive intentions.

Unfortunately, the plot of the movie kills not the tycoon in the film, but the career of the actor who plays the cuckolded tycoon.

It would not be wrong to say that character lusting for Lolita in ‘Wafaa’ is more like Shakti Kapoor from the South Indian remakes of the 1980s than any of the smooth-and-sensitive lover-boy roles Rajesh Khanna played during his time.

While watching the movie, many fans would try to convince themselves that this is a nightmare, but alas would be shook badly from the reality.
