Vijaya Bank net up 21% in the first quarter

Vijaya Bank net up 21% in the first quarterState-run Vijaya Bank has declared its financial results for the first quarter of the 2010-11 fiscal year. In this period of time, the bank has registered a striking 21% rise in the net profit figure. Vijaya Bank has posted a net profit of Rs 174 crore during the April-June quarter of financial year.

The net profit of the bank was Rs 144 crore in the corresponding quarter in the previous year. So there has been a hike of almost 21% in the net profit of the company in this quarter under review.

So far as the total income of the company is concerned, it has gone up Rs. 1,520 crore in the June quarter of the fiscal year 2010-11. It was Rs. 1,463 crore for the same quarter a year ago.

There has been a marginal hike in the total income of the bank as there has been a huge decline in the trading profit from treasury operations. It was found to be Rs. 170 crore in the quarter under review which was found to be Rs. 203 crore for the like period a year ago.
