London  - Manchester United confirmed on Friday that they had been granted a work permit for Serbia winger Zoran Tosic.

The 21-year-old is expected to join the club from Partizan Belgrade during the January transfer window, possibly in a joint deal also involving his compatriot Adam Ljajic.

Tosic was a key part of the Serbia side that reached the semi- finals of the Under-21 European Championships last season.

However, talks with 19-year-old Ljajic, an attacking midfielder, were still not in an advanced stage. (dpa)
