Unemployment falls to 7.8% in the UKAccording to the latest figures released, the unemployment rate fell 0.2 percentage points to 7.8 per cent between August and October from previous three months.

The total number of people without work fell by 82,000 between August and October to 2.51 million, according to latest figures. The quarterly fall is the biggest recorded in unemployment since 2001. The Office for National Statistics has also announced that the total number of people seeking Jobseeker's Allowance fell 3,000 to 1.58 million in November.

The total payment increased 1.8 per cent compared to the same period in the previous year. The employment rose 40,000 to 29.6 million in the country during the month, according to the Office for National Statistics.

Mark Hoban, minister for work and pensions said, "We see more people looking for work and actually finding work, so I think there's a really strong labour market there. This month we have seen a big increase in full-time jobs"

He said that he believes that there is more flexibility in the labour market even as there is a significant increase in full time jobs while the part time job market remained stable.
