As per the reports, Callinicos had joined the rapidly expanding company in September 2013. Before that, he has worked with Microsoft and Google for more than two decades. According to the reports, Callinicos has decided to leave the job, but he will be an adviser to Uber. Kalanick has not revealed the name of new CFO, but said that Gautam Gupta, who has been Callinicos's right hand, will be the acting CFO of the company.

In his email, Callinicos said that right now, he will drive his daughter to school and swim practice.
