TVS registers 28% growth in April 2010
The third largest player in the Indian two-wheeler industry has entered the new financial year with a bang as TVS Motors has filed an increase of 28% for the month of April 2010 in the domestic market.
Banking on new products Jive and Wego, the company has been able to hit the sweet spot of the Indian consumer which in turn bought the much-desired volumes under the umbrella of TVS Motors.
The company has grown from 113,119 units that it sold in April 2009 to 144,689 units in the last month in the domestic circuit. Moreover, while on the one end, Motorcycle segment grew by 24% in April 2010 with sales of around 66,000 units which is way up as compared to 53,235 units in the same month of the previous year, scooters segment on the other end continued its impressive sales growth increasing by 43% from 18,819 units in April 2009 to 26,860 units in the last month.
It may be noted here that the company is equally focused on the exports segment as it achieved a whopping growth of over 90% by exporting 19,218 units against 10,134 units in April 2009.
