Toonz to produce a film on Chandamama story
It’s a good news for Chandamama lovers. Toonz Animation India Pvt. Ltd has announced its plan to make an animation movie on one of the stories from Chandamama, the age old comic series book. The Toonz group together with Chandamama India Limited plans to produce a Rs 200 million project.
P. Jayakumar, the CEO of Toonz Animation admitted that the stories of Chandamama are still embedded in one’s mind. “The beauty of these stories lies in their simplicity and the socio cultural values they try to communicate. The animated film will be a perfect platform to provide today's youth both engaging and educative entertainment,” he said.
Toonz will provide for the film’s production cost and will provide its state-of-the-art studio at Technopark for production. Veteran film directors B. Nagi Reddi and his friend Chakrapani came forth with this book of stories in 1947 and since then have come up with more than 15000 stories in 14 languages.
Toonz was founded in the year 1999 and includes Marvel, Hallmark, Paramount, Disney, BBC and Cartoon Network as its clientele. The company is at present co-producing a 3D animated TV series “Freefonix” for BBC and will be coming up with 3 D film, "The life and adventures of Santa Claus", a 2D series on "Brave" for Cartoon Network, Europe, and "Tales of Lord Siva" for the Indian audiences.
