Alcatel-Lucent, Ericsson chosen by Verizon for network upgrade

Alcatel-Lucent, Ericsson chosen by Verizon for network upgradeIt was recently confirmed by Verizon that it has selected French-American telecoms gear maker Alcatel-Lucent and Sweden's Ericsson to upgrade its wireless network to high-speed fourth-generation LTE services.

In addition, an underlying IP network would be built by Alcatel-Lucent and Nokia and Siemens joint venture NSN that would allow LTE Long Term Evolution and other mobile technologies to supply faster multimedia services.

Targeting young generation and fashion-conscious users, the new clamshell phone has dimensions of 3.22 x 1.65 x 0.62 inches with a weight of just 2.32 oz.

The Nokia 2605 comes with a 1.8 inch internal display screen with 262K colors and 128 x 160 pixels, a 1.2 inch external display with 65K colors and 128 x 128 pixels, a VGA resolution camera with video recording capability and dedicated buttons.  

Verizon Announces BlackBerry Curve 8330 and BlackBerry Pearl 8130 In Pink

Verizon has announced to release BlackBerry Curve 8330 and the BlackBerry Pearl 8130 smart phones.

Both phones will support Wireless’ VZ Navigator service. The user can access maps with capability of almost 14 million points. The phones have pink look and company is expected to attract the college youths, other youngster and women.

The other features of the new products include 2MP camera, Blutooth, and SD card slot for memory expansion. The phone is provided with QWERTY keyboard and users can easily access mails. Curve 8330 includes 2.5-inch display with bright LED backlight. It also supports high Mega pixel Camera with Flash and Video Capture facility. It can integrate up to 10 personal email accounts.
