TCS youth survey senses mood of youth  In its move to find out the trends and to sense pulse of the youth across the nation, TATA Group's IT arm, Tata Consultancy services, has recently concluded a survey of school students, focusing on their interest in information, technology and digital world.

TCS' CEO and Managing Director, S Ramadorai said, "The study findings will have great impact on parents, teachers, policy makers and employers. And we need to leverage with the help of digital teaching for schools as it helps to manage talent."

The survey, according to TCS, gives clues about the potential talent and workforce available in various parts of the country. The company has been engaged in kids and youths programs for last 10 years in a bid to find talent and groom it for the country. It conducts IT quiz for school kids since 1999 and covered 2000 schools through its Academic Interface Program by now.

Mr. Ramadorai said, "India is not just about metros, but the country is very large spread in the tier II and III cities. And if TCS moves there, then it will give ample opportunities to parents about future of their children."

TCS categorized students in four verticals including globetrotter, the gadgetphile, the nation-builder, and the social networker based on their interest in study, gadgets, gaming and social networking mediums.
